You can use a section from shingles or rolls of asphalt roofing to replace the damaged one. The replacement section should be approximately the same dimensions as the one you cut out for the repair. Spread some roofing cement over the edge of the section you have cut out. After the patch has been properly installed, nail it. Use galvanized roof repair nails spaced at approximately two inches for repair.
The first replacement patch should be covered with roofing cement and extended by a minimum of 3 inches beyond the perimeter. You can use roofing cement to cover the replacement patch.
